HOW CAN PHYSIOTHERAPY HELP YOU?
'Physiotherapy improves your physical condition by restoring normal body functions and prevents disability that may arise from disease, trauma or injury. Your physiotherapist has a thorough understanding of how the body works gained from many years of rigorous academic study and practical experience. Physiotherapy encompasses posture, balance and movement, knowledge of diseases, injury and the healing process. A qualified physiotherapist is a trained medical practitioner and you do not need to be referred by a doctor to see a physiotherapist.'

ANNA IS QUALIFIED TO ASSESS AND TREAT THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
(YOU WILL ALSO BE PROVIDED WITH A HOME MANAGEMENT PROGRAM)
NECK AND BACK PAIN
SPINAL CONDITIONS
HEADACHE AND TMJ DISORDERS
Myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilisation, neural mobilisation and exercise are very effective in treating spinal conditions, back pain, neck pain, cervicogenic headaches and TMJ disorders.
LOWER AND UPPER LIMB INJURIES
OVERUSE AND SPORTS-RELATED CONDITIONS
With a thorough assessment of your movement patterns, muscle recruitment, strength and flexibility, Anna is able to help you identify the underlying biomechanical causes your injury/pain. Treatment and rehabilitation can then be targeted to assist you in recovering from your current condition and prevent injury in the future.
FOOT AND ANKLE INJURIES/PAIN
Anna has a special interest in ankle and foot conditions. The anatomy and biomechanics of the foot is incredibly complex, as there are multiple joints in the foot and ankle. Assessment of the subtle biomechanics around the foot during gait, restoration of joint mobility, and a specific strengthening program are essential to rehabilitate foot and ankle conditions.
OSTEOARTHRITIS
DEGENERATIVE JOINT DISORDERS
Anna can help you manage your condition and prevent deterioration, so that you are able to participate as fully as possible in life. Treatment of myofascial tension around the joint, mobilisation of the joint structures and muscle strengthening can make a huge difference in your quality of movement, pain levels and functional ability.
CHRONIC PAIN
TENSION-RELATED DISORDERS
Modern pain neuroscience has revealed tremendous insights into how pain is processed and experienced. The management of chronic pain involves understanding how the central nervous system processes pain and what factors contribute to the experience of pain. Treatment focused on pain neuroscience education, activity pacing, graded exposure to exercise and goal setting has consistently shown to be beneficial in those suffering with chronic pain.
POST-OPERATIVE ORTHOPAEDIC REHABILITATION
Physiotherapy can been extremely valuable to assist you in recovering from your operation. Common procedures are hip and knee replacements, Achilles tendon repair, spinal surgery, foot surgery and rotator cuff repair. Anna is able to work in close communication with your surgeon to ensure optimal post-surgical results.
NEURAL DISORDERS AND NERVE-RELATED PAIN
Nerve pain can be alarming in its intensity. There can be several different types of neural dysfunction ranging from mild to severe. Anna is qualified to evaluate and treat neural dysfunction, including neural sensitivity, neural irritation, sciatica, altered sensation (such as pins and needles) and pain due to nerve root compression (e.g. following a lumbar or cervical disc injury).
